Onetrace is always innovating and searching for new ways to support the fire industry. As a fire-stopping software that is made by fire protection operatives for operatives, we have a unique understanding of what happens on site and what happens in the office, and we use this understanding, along with customer feedback, to guide our roadmap for development.

With our finger on the pulse, working in line with the latest accreditation compliance standards, coupled with our view from the ground, we can predict what changes can happen in the industry and work to ensure that our customers are prepared for regulation changes and always working within compliance standards if they use Onetrace effectively.

As the regulations and laws around the building and fire safety change, fire-stopping companies will be required to have 3rd party accreditations, increasing their internal administrative load and requiring them to use a traceability system such as Onetrace fire-stopping software. Fire stopping has a lot of administrative work that is hidden in the background, which many who don’t work on-site aren’t aware of. This is why Onetrace was built; to find a more efficient way to do the admin work onsite during a job while decreasing the workload overall.

With 3rd party accreditations becoming more prominent, fire-stopping companies are now looking to either get accredited or become more compliant in-house in preparation for accreditation. This is where Onetrace can help.

One of those mandatory administrative tasks with 3rd party accreditations is labelling. Any installations for fire-stopping cavity barriers and fire doors carried out should be labelled with a sticker, containing information about what work was done, who did it when it was done, the material used, the fire rating and the reference number. This information is crucial in the event of a fire or should anyone damage a fire seal.

Often, these labels are handwritten. With anything handwritten, there is a high possibility of human error and illegibility of handwriting, rendering the labels unreliable and redundant. Handwriting the labels is also time-consuming, and they don’t look aesthetically pleasing either. But it’s not all doom and gloom as Onetrace has a solution for this!

QR coding is an innovative feature we have recently implemented on Onetrace app, extinguishing these issues of handwriting and human error. With Onetrace fire-stopping software, fire protection operatives can simply scan a label with a unique QR code which will link the installation details automagically from the app to the QR code label, removing the need to write up labels. This is easily done from an operative’s mobile device or tablet, right from the site, without needing any additional software, hardware or tools.

This is massively time-saving and looks more professional since QR code labels are much more aesthetically pleasing than handwriting. And we’re certain that your operatives will enjoy scanning a label much more than handwriting one!

We have had a number of clients requesting this as a feature to help them streamline their workflow on-site, making them more efficient and effective, while increasing the scope of their digital transformation as the industry slowly transitions into the digital age.

About Onetrace Fire Stopping Software

We made Onetrace as a solution to make working on-site easier. It’s made for fire protection operatives and contractors to keep everyone efficient and in line with 3rd party accreditation standards. Everyone has a mobile device on-site as it’s our primary device for communication, which is why we built Onetrace to work not only on a laptop or a desktop in the office but on a mobile device, so operatives can use the devices they already have and are comfortable with using on-site.

If you’re ready to see how Onetrace can completely transform your business, all you need to do is simply get in touch or book a demo. If you’re not ready to commit, that’s okay - you can try Onetrace completely free for 7 days with zero obligation or commitment. No fuss, no hassle.
